About Us

The Navarro College Small Business Development Center is part of the nationwide SBDC system linking resources from federal, state and local governments to colleges, universities and the private sector. The SBDC is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration and Navarro College. Providing counseling and training services to four counties that include Ellis, Freestone, Limestone and Navarro, the center is designed to provide small businesses with the practical assistance needed to survive, grow and prosper.

Counseling
The SBDC offers free one-on-one counseling for both start-up and existing businesses on loans and financing, financial statement analysis, marketing, accounting and recordkeeping, sales, advertising, business planning and management. Opportunities for business growth, government contracting, exporting, market expansion and new emerging technologies can be explored.

Training
Providing instruction on both general and specific business topics, the SBDC offers free and low-cost seminars, conferences and workshops addressing the needs of small businesses. Courses range from introductory topics for those planning to start a business to more advanced seminars aimed at the experienced small business owner.

Business and Market Research
The SBDC has access to a wide range of information through resources such as the SBDCNet, Small Business Administration (SBA), and various other online subscription databases that include HillSearch, DemographicsNow, ReferenceUSA, and more. Through these resources and at no cost to you, the SBDC can help locate hard-to-find information vital to your business success.
